I don't trust it though. The last time I found bondo on the car they shaped a corner of a fender using a mcdonalds fry cup.

That is unfortunately, only one of the things you might run into on any vehicle that has had bodywork done on it. I have found, screen wire, tinfoil, beer cans, soup cans, an old saw blade (with the teeth still on it), a plastic jug bottom (used to shape a cab corner), etc., etc., on various vehicles over the years. It's safe to say that almost nothing surprises me in this particular area of auto rebuilding.
I myself even did a bad one time. I used expanding foam to seal holes in a rickety old truck cab to keep the cold winter air out. While it did work, it was a huge pain to remove it when I got around to replacing the rusted out sections.
